GTA 6 Map: Leonida & Vice City Explained

Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the state of Leonida, a modern take on Florida built around Vice City. Here's what we know about the GTA 6 map and its regions.

Welcome to Leonida

Grand Theft Auto VI takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar’s reimagining of modern-day Florida. At its heart sits a returning fan favorite: Vice City, the neon-soaked Miami analog last playable in 2002’s GTA: Vice City.

Confirmed regions

Trailers and official media point to a varied map spanning dense city blocks, beaches, wetlands and rural towns. Areas shown or referenced include:

  • Vice City — the central metropolis
  • Leonida Keys — an island chain to the south
  • Grassrivers — sprawling Everglades-style wetlands
  • Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park

We label map details as confirmed only when shown by Rockstar. Region names and exact borders may evolve as more trailers and gameplay arrive.

How big is the map?

Rockstar hasn’t published an official size. Early analysis suggests Leonida is meaningfully larger and more detailed than GTA V’s San Andreas — see our GTA 6 vs GTA 5 comparison for the details.

An interactive map is coming

A filterable, interactive map of Leonida — with a 100% completion tracker — is our flagship tool in development. Follow its progress at /map, and browse confirmed places in the locations database in the meantime.
